Their nine-foot ceilings allow for extra vertical storage, and some of their basement units have 12-foot ceilings. If you own a boat, RV, or trailer, you can safely store it when it’s not in use with one of their outdoor storage spaces.

First time storage renter, and I’m so glad I found this place. Use of their very inexpensive cargo vans make this place a steal, on top of their already great prices. I have complete confidence in the safety of my things, their units, reception area, customer service and security were all top-notch. Also loved their homey and quirky reception area, with chilled-out music to calm stressed out movers. Keely at the front desk was so kind and really made sure I found the best unit for my needs. She was very patient and friendly and was always checking to make sure I had everything I needed during the move. The manager was also very friendly and accommodating and explained the contract to me clearly. I honestly never do ratings, but all the good things you read about Lockaway are true. Lockaway Self Storage is unbelievably one of the hidden places that you would experience what the oldest New York City atmosphere would be like. Not like other fancy storages in NYC you might see. Once you move things in there and walk through the facility, you would feel you are in NYC in the 1970s - 1980s, seriously. The lobby is filled with the beautiful and rare antiques and also twelve 42" LED monitors for surveillance & security needs. The staff, who has been working there for more than 30 years, is helpful, patient, polite, and friendly. During summer seasons, the staff gives free small bottles of cold water, nice relief! Oh yes, the Koi-fish pond and the flower garden to the entrance would greet your visit and serve your solace and relaxation if necessary. The neighborhood, Walkabout (not many New Yorkers know that name!) is safer and quiet. Love that 70s-80s soul, honestly. ~ Earth N
